Austin’s Live Music Experience – Cari Hutson

There has never been a time when I left a Cari Hutson performance that I was not thinking, “Wow!”   She is a powerhouse with a distinctive voice. By this I mean you always know that you are hearing the authentic Cari Hutson. She never holds back and always delivers a performance, an experience that is memorable.  Supported by her group, “Good Company”, Cari is pure entertainment.

From the first time I heard and photographed her, Oct. 2020, I noticed that she uses her hands as part of the song. The melodious movements are as integral to the song as the words being sung. They are the unspoken words that give a deeper meaning to the message being delivered.

Yesterday, I noticed something else. It has always been there, I just took notice. Her eyes and her facial expressions while singing. Cari locks onto you with her eyes and her face conveys the message that she is singing from her soul. There is no confusion, she believes that which she is singing. This song, each song, is important and you need to listen. I always wake up the next morning with the song “Some Kind of Beautiful” or “You Take My Breath Away” going through my brain.

Yesterday, I was tired. Yesterday, I was energized. The music of Austin is powerful. It is an amazing gift available to each and everyone who makes the effort to attend a live performance. If you have not seen Cari Hutson & Good Company then you are missing out on an experience that can be received no where else on earth but here, in the “Live Music Capital of the World”, Austin, Texas.
