A woman singing on the stage

Cari Hutson St. Marie

“Voice gives me goosebumps. Simply nothing shy of amazing and soulful as a soul will get.” – Brian Andrew Lee

I first photographed this amazing person, whom we call Cari Hutson St. Marie, on October 29, 2020, when she sang during Robert Wagner’s Black Crowe’s Experience at Empire Control Room & Garage. I saw then as I continue to see with each performance that Cari is not only powerful but hypnotic. Her voice grabs your attention and then her constantly moving hands paints the image you are to see for each song. You have only to watch, listen, and enjoy. Your mind will be energized. Your soul will be refreshed. You will not only be entertained, but you will also have been rejuvenated and ready to take on the world.

Each song of each performance is an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to. The expressions on her face quickly reveal that this woman is pure in her deliverance of the messages she sings about. Because of such, one quickly is absorbed and forgets the world around them. When you wake up the next morning with one of the songs sung the night before, you know your soul was touched. I have been and continue to be in awe of her. As Brian stated above, She is “…nothing shy of amazing…”

Her December 21, 2021’s performance at the Saxon Pub with Cari Hutson & Good Company and then Mark Miller‘s Tumbling Dice performance only 11 days earlier at the Saxon changed the direction of my second book, Resurgence: Austin Music is Live. There can be no doubt that Cari Hutson & Good Company have a bright, bright future ahead. If you are not headed to the Saxon Pub on the first Thursday of each month then you are traveling to the wrong destination. Seven Pillars Photography is proud to capture the experience of this phenomenal performer.
